Flawed by Cecelia Ahern - Book Review & Giveaway

I recently read and reviewed the book Flawed by Cecelia Ahern. I really liked Flawed! It's the typical dystopian YA teenage girl saving the world story that I absolutely love...when done right, and Flawed does it right!

How To Use Adproval & a Giveaway!

I've been blogging for years, but I've been blogging on this blog for the past 5 years.  I've also been ad swapping (and even selling the occasional ad, whoo!) for that long. I started the way most blogs start by manually adding the codes and reminding myself to take them down after the agreed upon time. It was work, so I found a free service that would automate it and even provide a marketplace to help promote my blog. After a bit that place was no longer free, that's when I found Adproval. (I talked about my switch back in 2013, here.) Also, in case you missed it, I talked about Adproval yesterday in a video!

It's My Birthday Month!

It's April, my Birthday month! I've decided I want to celebrate with you by throwing a month long blog party with giveaways and vlogs every day. Thank you so much for joining in on the fun! Here's how it works, every Thursday there will be a giveaway. (Be sure to read the guidelines each prize is provided by someone different.) I'll also be vlogging every day over on my second channel in addition to my weekly videos on my main channel. I'm sure I'll have other fun things to share and talk about on other days so stick around. If you ever want to check out what's happened so far, I've made a page that I'll be updating with all the activities along the way right here.

Review & Giveaway with Datevation

Looks like Datevitation is getting around the blog world, well the silly romance bug has bitten me too. I've always wanted to do some sort of coupon book date grab bag idea filled lovey-dovey gift thing for Jim and now I have, and it was super easy!

(The packing is so cute!)

I'll be honest with you, at first I was not sure about these little books. I'm crafty, I could make these myself no problem. However, once I browsed through the site I saw the real benefit of them to me, date ideas! They have over 500 of them (wat?!) Now, I don't know about you, but I have a problem with 'choice anxiety.' What that means to me is that I love having adventures but can never decide what kind. Should we go on a dinner date, museum, movies, etc. etc. etc.? Most of the time, I'm sad to admit, we end up doing the same thing over and over again. There's nothing wrong with the 'classics' but new adventures can be great...if we could just make up our minds.

(I chose things like aquarium trip and wine tasting...but these 'adult' options are pretty adorable when it's stick figures are re-enacting them.)

So I got a Datevitation book for Jim with 5 date ideas for when we can't make up our minds. He loved it and we have already used one up (Observatory date!) A cute option they have is to add your own photos (of your faces) to the little cartoon bodies, but I thought the characters were too cute to not use completely.

They also have the option to do non-romantic 'dates as well. I almost wish I had browsed these options before I made my book for Jim. I'm curious to see what the activity ideas are for 'family dates'!

(I actually really love the idea of parents giving these books to their kids. Quality time!)

So the lovely people at Datevitation have set up a giveaway so one of my readers can win a free book! Just check out the Rafflecopter widget bellow to enter. If you just can't wait, they also have offered a coupon code for $10 off + shipping ($13.50 total off). Just enter ‘MAGICCAT’ at checkout. Make sure you get your orders in by December 13 if they are Christmas gifts.

Also, if you want to double up on your chances, head on over to Chantilly Songs, becouse she's hosting a Datevitation giveaway too!

Musical Mondays: Lip Sync

For this week's Musical Mondays, I'm going to embarrass myself. Yup. I was trying to think of a great song to share with you when I remembered I recently did a lip sync video for my (currently on hiatus)  collab channel. I picked a few of my favorite songs so you'll get to hear a bit of my music taste as you watch me act very silly. Enjoy!

In cause you did not see last week's post, every Monday this month I'll be participating in the 'Music Mondays' link up hosted by My So Called Chaos. I'll write about what song I'm feeling that week and link up with a bunch of other bloggers doing the same. Also, this month I'm the sponsor! That means that I am doing a music related giveaway, so if you want to win a prize just check the bottom of this post! I'm giving away a CD from Jim's band, The Long Holidays. It's called The Adventure Through Liquid Space and has 11 songs about adventures, submarines, vikings, gods, and more.

What music are you listening to today?

Musical Mondays: Cut Right Through Me

Today I'd like to share with you a clip from "De Constructed ANTHEM" a making-of documentary of Hanson's sixth studio album. I have been a Hanson fan ever since 1997 (I was 11 years old and in love!) I have never stopped following their career and I try and see them play whenever they are in town touring. Their new album is coming out soon and can be pre-ordered on their website, Hanson.net. I wish this was the whole song but it's a great teaser!

Musical Mondays: Cold War Battle Call

Every Monday this month I'll be participating in the 'Music Mondays' link up hosted by My So Called Chaos. I'm giving away a CD from Jim's band, The Long Holidays. It's called The Adventure Through Liquid Space and has 11 songs about adventures, submarines, vikings, gods, and more.

The song I am feeling today, however, is off of their latest album (they did not release a physical copy or else I would have given that away). It's called Cold War Battle Call and it's about two spys, on oposite sides of a war, in love. I hope you enjoy the song and be sure to let the band know what you think on their Twitter or their Facebook.
