The Transatlantic Tour

Tuesday, May 3rd I worked the merch table at the DC stop of The Transatlantic Tour. I was nice since the last time I got to see some YouTube musicians live was Playlist Live, and I tend to like the smaller venue shows anyways. The performers were Rusty Clanton, Tessa Violet, Dodie Clark, and Jon Cozart. I had such a great time helping out and getting to see the show (which I may not have otherwise since it was ticket lottery) Working their merch booth brought me back to being the designated merch girl for The Long Holidays, good times. Be sure to check the bottom of this post for the presents I made for the musicians. (hint: they're buttons!)

Feminist Button Pack

I've been button making again! I've been meaning to make a 'Consent is Necessary' button for some time now. It's not just a message I strongly believe in, it's a basic human right. If you want one, I've listed them as part of a Feminist Button Pack in my Etsy shop! They are perfect for pinning on your backpack, vest, bag, collar, or anywhere the patriarchy will see. Here are some Q&As regarding them:

How much for all 4?
Only $5, that's a dollar less than buying them all individually.

Can I buy just the 'Consent is Necessary' button?
If the packs do well then I'll list it on it's own, for now it's a package deal.

How is 'Teen Witch' a feminist slogan?
It's not really, but it's pretty rad. ;D

When will you make a button that says ____?
I take most requests and if it's something that fits in my shop, it'll be a normal product!

Feminist and Halloween Buttons!

New buttons! I love making buttons and now there are 5 new designs in my shop! I sat down with my friend Kristen a while ago and we came up with saying we'd want to have on buttons. Well, I finally made them.

Feminist Collar Clips

Oh the woes of pointing out problematic things when people are just trying to have a good time. Such a killjoy you are for explaining consent at the dinner table. Don't hide your head in shame, your love of equality is not something to keep to yourself. Tell the world with these super cute collar clips, so your friends won't be surprised when you start talking about pronouns and Smurfettes.

In all seriousness, 'feminist' is not a dirty word. If you agree, these pins are for you. They are this month's new Nerdy Monster item (just in time, wow) and there is a limited amount available on my Etsy shop. I'm designing some other (not all feminist related) collar clips and I am open for commissions if you have a custom design in mind.

Get the Long Beach Funky Quaffles to the Quidditch World Cup!

My wonderful (and talented) friend Hannah is on a Quidditch team, The Long Beach Funky Quaffles, and they have qualified for the Quiddich World Cup this year! (Yes muggles people actually play a version of Quidditch from the Harry Potter series. Yes they hold a World Cup every year. Still with me? Good.) It's not being held in California this year so they need a travel fund, that's where you (maybe) come in.

If you've never heard of Indigogo it's a website that lets people who need funding for projects try and get just that! There are different 'perks' depending on how much you decide to donate. (I personally chose the "Something for Everyone" $12 level so I can get Hannah's new album, so excited!)

I have also helped out by designing some cute Quidditch themed buttons! At the $2 donation level you'll receive the Funky Quaffles logo button and at the $6 level you'll receive the three Quidditch  buttons I've drawn. The first is a broom, quaffle, and two bludgers, the second is the hoops, and the third is the snitch.

Buttons - Nerdy Monsters' Febuary Item

As part of my 2014 Goals, I am releasing a new item in my Etsy shop each month. I'm finishing off this month with some nerdy Harry Potter inspired buttons! I've designed some dignified house animal silhouettes and my good friend Whitney Lynn has designed some super cute baby house animals. I've sold these before at Harry Potter themed craft fairs but never online. I think I'll be listing more button designs in the future as well.

4 Days Till the Craft Fair: Buttons!

Buttons! I just have to say it enthusiastically, BUTTONS! I love buttons (or 'pins' if you will) When I was in High School I had a ton on my school bag and jackets.  For years I have been wanting my own button maker and this year I finally got one! The buttons are $1 each and whatever I don't sell at the fair will go straight to my Etsy.

Each button features an animal representative of one of the four Hogwarts houses.  A lion for Gryffindor, a serpent for Slytherin, an eagle for Ravenclaw, and a badger for Hufflepuff.  There are two for each house with the colors reversed.  I'm not sure how I'll sell them online. As a pair of 2, 4, 8?  Let me know how'd you want to buy then if you were shopping on Etsy.  If you are in the Los Angeles area, you can buy them at the Whimsic Alley Craft Fair this weekend!
