Review with Kidecals

Kidecals is sponsoring me in December but I just got my keycals in the mail and I could not wait to try them out! They make waterproof name labels, chalkboard labels, pantry labels, canning labels, gift labels, and their newest product is keycals. Keycals are removable stickers for your (Mac) keyboard. I got them in this nice emerald ombre design. I've aways wanted fancy keyboard keys and I really love the way they turned out!

They have offered a coupon code for 15% off anything on their site. Just enter awesomelabels at checkout. If I get a new keyboard for my desktop, I might have to get the rainbow or unicorn design...

Thankvember: Family

Happy Thanksgiving! Since this is my last Thankvember post I am dedicating it to my family. I had a great childhood and continue to have the love and support of my family every day. I know not everyone is as fortunate so I am beyond thankful for them. I love them so so much! I'm not going to write too much here (I could write a book!) since I'd rather spend time with them (and eat some turkey) than sit alone and write about them, so I'll leave you with a few good photos.
(My sister Amy and myself)
(My wonderful parents, Linda and Bob)

(I have one living blood grandparent, my mom's mom Grandma Carol)

(Cousins! These are all the cousins on my dad's side, my closest cousins. Katie, Dianna, Greg, me, Aaron, and my sister Amy)
(I have extended family in Sweden and these are my cousins Kavita and Sabina)
(A rare cousin (and sister) reunion)
Have a nice meal today, even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving!

So I was looking through my photos from December last year and found this little fellow. His name is Arkim and he was a present for my friend Stacy for a Christmas party Secret Santa last year. There are no Arkim's for sale in my shop but if a fan of Batman out there really wanted one, I'd be willing to make more.

What to Wear to Watch Doctor Who

The Doctor
I'm back with another outfit post! This Saturday was the 50th aniversery of Doctor Who and for the occasion I decided to incorbreate a little Time Lord into my outfit. I was not going full cosplay since I was just watching the episode with a few friends, not going to a party. If you have a Doctor Who shirt and some of these accessories, it's really simple. Here's some ideas.

My favorite Doctor is the 10th played by David Tennant. For 10 all you need is some Converse shoes, a trench coat or long jacket, and some rectangular glasses.  (Luckily for me, my actual glasses are perfect!) My TARDIS shirt is from Threadless.
The Doctor
The second look is even simpler. To be the 9th Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston, all you really need is a leather jacket (or faux leather in my case) and a stern expression. My TARDIS tank top is from Hot Topic. The Doctor
The third look is a bit of a thowback to older Doctor Who with the 4th Doctor, played by Tom Baker. I've actually never seen any of his episodes but I know what he looks like! All you need is a fedora hat and a striped scarf. My 11 Doctors shirt is from TeeFury. The Doctor
I ended up dressing as both the 10th Doctor and the 4th Doctor. 10-4. See, I'm getting the hang of outfit posts! Ok ok, I promise I'll do some non-cosplay-ish ones soon...it reminds me to accessorize. You know, I don't have any Doctor Who hair bows or jewelery. This give me an idea for more things for my shop! Well until make my ideas reality, allons-y!

Thankvember: My Boyfriend

(Jim working in the field, his gun is to defend himself in case of bears, not for hunting.)
It's the third week of Thankvember and, of course, I am thankful for my boyfriend, my life buddy, my partner in crime. How do you talk about your significant other without sounding cheesy and sappy? How do you convey your love in way that is honest and original? I don't know, but I do know that I am very thankful for having him in my life.
We've been together roughly eight years so far. We've made it through college and most of our 20s by each other's side. We've gone through so much together and yet we're still going strong. Love it like that, it doesn't give up.
Jim is such an amazing intelligent person. He has a PhD and is always trying to learn more about the world. He teaches me so much and together our combined thirst for learning and exploring has brought us on some pretty awesome adventures.
He's musical as well. He is a song writer and also the lead singer of a band he founded. I've always been a sucker for musicians and I'd be lying if I told you that wasn't the first thing that attracted me to him. He's more talented than he realizes sometimes.
Jim is just so great! What do you expect me to say? He's my favorite! He's honest and kind. He's a great big brother to all his brothers and sisters. (He's the oldest of 5!) We have that in common, both 'first-born's. He's respectful and empathetic. He really is just a good person.
What can I say? I'm in love. I've found my life buddy. He's wonderful and together we are unstoppable! Sorry I'm not sorry, but I lucked out.
Regardless if you've found your other or not, I hope you have a happy November!

Grow Your Blog Link Up

Hello! Today's post is coming to you via my new blog friend Toni in New Zealand! She's created a pretty great blog link up idea for small bloggers looking to grow their blog (like me!) Well, I'll just let her explain it to you:
 __________________________________________________________________________

Welcome to the very first Grow Your Blog Link Up!

It's a link up specifically for new bloggers (those with less than 500 followers per social medium are welcome too). It's a chance to meet other new bloggers, and hopefully build networks and friendships.

There are no fees for co-hosting. Just email me at onechocolatebox@gmail.com if you're interested.

Link ups start every Wednesday at 3pm NZDT (that's Tuesday 6pm PST and Wednesday 1pm AEDT if that helps).

Each week, one participant will be randomly selected, and gets featured on the following week's blog hop. More free exposure!

There'll also be a giveaway from time to time, so make sure to check back each week.
1. You don't have to, but I'd appreciate it if you could follow One Chocolate Box.

2. Follow the co-hosts! Let them know you're following from the Link Up, so they can follow you back.

3. Link up in the appropriate section using your blog URL or profile URL. Remember you can only link up in the section if you have less than 500 followers in it.

4. Visit and follow at least 1 other blogger. Let them know what you like about their blog.

5. Return the love, follow your new followers!

6. It would be super if you shared the Link Up via Facebook or Twitter. The more people join up, the more potential followers you can get.

7. I'd love you forever if you grabbed the button below and place it on your sidebar!

A big welcome to my lovely co-hosts this week:

Kate at Odd One Out
Jennifer at Magic Cat Jenny
Chynna at The Invisible Child
Bri at Deliciously Active

Thanks so much for co-hosting ladies!

 __________________________________________________________________________

Wow, what an abundance of links! Try to give a few a click if you add any of your own. You might just make a new friend.

I'm a Geek for: Snail Mail

These colorful folders are home to my many snail mail projects. In the past few years I've been sending more letters then I ever have before. One of my projects is 100 Letters. After finding an old stationary book with 100 pages, I decided I wanted to send 100 letters to my friends and family all around the world. I'm very close to being half way through and once I do reach 50 I'll make another video.

Another snail mail project I'm apart of is the International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club. I was in the second round of pairs in April and I was paired up with a lovely lady name Amy who sent me a huge package for our very first exchange. She knew it was my birthday month so she really went all out. I decided to film myself opening the package so you can see what I got and my (very happy) reaction.

I wish I had enough money to get a PO Box so I could post the address in every video I make and on this blog, but until then I am only open to becoming pen pals with people from the IGGPPC or close internet/YouTube/blog friends. If you fall into one of those categories and would like to exchange snail mail, let me know!

So "I'm a Geek for"is a link up I'm starting where geeky bloggers can collaborate on themed posts and link up!  If you want to join the "I'm a Geek for" party, link up with your own post about snail mail . We'd love to see it. And if you can't make it this time around, we'll be back in December with another theme. Join in then!

Delirium (The Sandman) - Halloween 2007

Delirium
For Halloween in 2007 I was a college senior and I decided to dress up as Delirium for a Halloween party. Delirium is one of The Endless from Neil Gaiman's graphic novel series, The Sandman. Since the series is illustrated by various artists, the characters often appear slightly different. Delirium is by far the the character with the most looks, so I chose to take elements from different versions to make mine.
