Life Update, I'm Pregnant!

Back in July, we shared this photo with friends and family with the caption: "We helped out the annual GCReW Biomass census today. Lots of uh...things growing out here." Now, at the start of September, we're letting our news be public. We're gonna have a baby!! Word's can not express how excited and scared we are, but I try in a YouTube video...beacuse of course. I'm just so overwhelmed with love and excitement and I'm just amazed at how far Jim and I have come. We're gonna be parents!! I hope our news brings you a little joy today, and I hope you'll stay tuned for more!

3 Year Anniversary

Last month was our three-year wedding anniversary and since I haven't been blogging I never posted these photos anywhere. (But seeing as tomorrow is Jim's birthday and of course I'm going to gush about him in a post, consistent blogging or not, I figured I should probably make this post now.) We didn't take too many shots this time as the "tree spot" we picked this year was our own backyard. Our backyard is pretty mosquito-ridden this time of year. Next year I think we'll walk the few blocks it takes to get to a nice park since there's so many of them in our neighborhood. I love going through these photos and noticing all the little changes. I hope we can take these photos, the week of our anniversary, surrounded by trees and nature, for the rest of our lives.

2 Year Anniversary

Last month was our second wedding anniversary! (and just about two years of living in Maryland) We took a walk in the trails behind SERC; Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. (where Jim works.) I've decided that every year, on or just after May 24th, we'll take some family photos. Near trees. 'Cause we got married near trees. It's gonna be a thing!

2 Year Wedding AnniversaryTwo years ago I got to celebrate my love with my forever guy in a beautiful park surrounded by friends and family. I really can't believe it's been two years since that day. 2 Year Wedding Anniversary 2 Year Wedding Anniversary
A bit about the "photo shoot": These photos were actually taken with my phone. My original plan had us using a nicer camera but once we got there I noticed the SD card was missing. So, I ended up propping up my phone on the portrait plate of my tripod and using the timer function. The quality is not ideal, but still, think the shots came out nice.2 Year Wedding Anniversary 2 Year Wedding Anniversary
I tried not to get too cheesy with the poses. I mean, we only really have three. "Classic," "Looking at Each Other," and "Kissing." If we had a photographer I'm sure there would be so many more ideas. There were some really cute ones from our engagement shoot and the wedding (obviously) which I know I've yet to share here. (Getting to that this year!) ♥︎ Happy wedding anniversary Jim. I'm so thankful for you every day, I love you so much!

1 Year Anniversary

The week of our anniversary, Jim and I took some photos at Quiet Waters Park, a tradition I hope to continue. It's been a full year since we got married, packed the cars, and drove across the country. It's been an emotional roller coaster of a year at that, the highest highs and the lowest lows ever in my life so far. There's no one I'd rather have by my side through it all though than Jim. We're a team.

Wedding Rehearsal

This was when things started feeling real. We met the judge who married us, everyone (for the most part) got together. We all had a very nice fancy dinner full of many many tear-filled toasts. It was all very overwhelming and truly amazing. Seeing our families together was just so beautiful and made me so happy and I have to stop now before I start crying over my laptop. Enjoy these photos of the day. The real photos are coming soon.

The presents I gave my bridesmaids. They each got a paper flower bouquet made from the craft we did at the Long Beach bridal shower, a leaf necklace which we all wore in the wedding, and they each got a unique gift that was just for them. IMG_7154

My Cousin Dianna - Jenny Vlogs with Friends

You all know my cousin Dianna. I've talked about her here, here, hear, she guest blogged here, and she has her own blog here. She is quite the character and I love her to bits for it. Recently I interviewed* her for my YouTube series; Jenny Vlogs with Friends. She was a delight!
*mostly we talked about disneybounding, sung show tunes and recited Shakespeare.

Dianna's Wedding

IMG_5802 Earlier this Month my cousin Dianna got married. It was a big deal because she's the first of the cousins on my dad's side to get married. (There are six of us, mostly all close in age.) I had bet back at the start of last year that she'd be the first. Then sure enough she got engaged. (And I'm next!) I love her so much and I'm so happy she found her prince. (Her wedding was mostly Sleeping Beauty themed, so that's not as cheesy as it sounds.) Here's some of my favorite photos from the day. (That photo above is me, Dianna, her new hubby Bob, and my sister Amy.)
