Nikko - Japan Day 4

Get ready for quite a lot o photos. Our fourth day in Japan (February 6th, 2014) was a busy one. Jim, myself, Amy, and her friend took the train to Nikko. There we spent the day at temples and then we headed over to Edo Wonderland, an Edo era themed 'Ninja village'.

100 Letters Halfway Update

It's been 2 years since I started my 100 Letters project, and I admit I forgot about it for a while. There are a few friends who will still send me letters, but I'm only now halfway through the project. That's right, the next person to send me a '100 Letters' letter will receive letter number 50. (In fact, it will be written on that very penguin sheet in the photo above.) Since starting 100 Letters I've joined the IGGPPC and have gotten 2 pen pals. I never considered them part of the '100 Letters' project though. So I've sent more than 49 letters since this started. I'd like to challenge myself to finish this project within the next year. So if you'd like to be a part, watch this video to find out how. (I won't let anyone send me letters because of safety and such, but if you're a YouTuber or part of the IGGPPC then you have a good chance.)

Harajuku Cat Tights

I finally got one of those high-waisted skirts! Yeah fashion! This outfit was defiantly inspired by Beckii Cruel. I've been seeing these kitty tights around the blogosphere lately so when I found them in a costume shop in Harajuku, Japan it was perfect.

Kyoshi Warrior Suki (Avatar the Last Airbender)

One of  my favorite animated shows of all time is Avatar the Last Airbender. Back in 2010 I decided to do some Avatar themed makeup designs. This is the first of three; Suki's Kyoshi Warrior makeup.

Na'vi Makeup

 

This was the only photo I could find from this makeup project. I don't remember particularly liking this film, but I just had to try and attempt makeup from it. I debated posting this photo or not but I think I did a decent job (despite not being able to really recall much of what that movie was about). I have some makeup coming up from the 'other' (and my favorite) Avatar.

Nakano to Ikebukuro - Japan Day 3

The third day of our trip consisted of exploring even more of Tokyo. The three of us started off browsing the collectables and vending machines of Nakano. There we met our friend Sam, who was in Japan on a vacation from her job in China. After that we visited a (rather sad) aquarium for a bit. Than later that night Jim and I had dinner with my high school buddy, Mike, who's working in Japan as an English teacher. We had a great sushi dinner in Ikebukuro. It seems that where ever in the world I go,  I run into friends.
 

Video Jennyanydots

My second Cats makeup of 2010 was the Gumby Cat, Jennyanydots. Seeing as she's a Jellicle who shares my name, and I'd never attempted her makeup design, I tried it out. I did the video version design and I was quite pleased with the result if I recall correctly.
