BroadwayCon 2018 - Day 3 - Jellicle Cats

IMG_0050 (If you repost my photos please credit me and link this blog, thank you!)
Day three of BroadwayCon 2018 will forever go down in history as the Jellicle day. (At least for me and my friends.) It was the day us Cats cosplayers decided to do a meetup which turned into the BroadwayCon social media team filming a pretty long Hyperlapse of us 'catting about' for their Instagram. I honestly don't remember much of what else I did that day, so enjoy this photo dump from Sunday, January 28th, 2018.

This was a cool moment. This is us with the Broadway Experience director, Ben Hartley and assistant director, Mami Tomotani. Ben was in the original West End production of Cats and Mami was in the original Japan production. IMG_1942 IMG_1950 IMG_1953 IMG_1954 IMG_1977 IMG_1979_1 IMG_1984_1

BroadwayCon was, yet again, an amazing experience. It's the con I dreamed of when I was a teen and I still am stunned it's actually real. Thank you to Anthony Rapp and everyone else who made it possible. IMG_2001

Till next time. (Whenever that is, it might not be for a while...) IMG_2004

BroadwayCon 2018 - Day 2

(If you repost my photos please credit me and link this blog, thank you!)
Day two of BroadwayCon 2018 was a big day. It was the day of the cosplay panel, the mainstage cosplay fashion show, and the day Julianne was attending with me!

She started the day by bringing coffee and croissant to my hotel room. (Well, she actually gave her croissant to a homeless man, so I gave her half of mine.) She was dressed as Veronica Sawyer (my old costume from the first BroadwayCon) and I was Jemima...with trimmed ears. We took the necessary cosplay mirror selfies before walking over to the convention center.

I had to show her the Phantom booth, first thing.

Next was the Lin-Manuel Miranda cardboard cut-outs...Julianne interviewed one for her article. (😂)

Um, what? (It's from School of Rock...oh Andrew.)

The 'Curtians Up On Cosplay' panel was so wonderful this year! I was so honored to be apart of this for the second year in a row. Be sure to check out the panel video here! IMG_1880 IMG_1882

Our Jellicle squad made it into the top 10 finalists of the cosplay fashion show! Wow wow wow! IMG_1887 IMG_1891 IMG_1902

I hung out with Chris on Saturday as well! I shot some cosplay video of him and Luis, I'll let you know once he posts it! IMG_1914 IMG_1908 IMG_1910

More Andrew Lloyd Webber relics in the wild. IMG_1912

I'll leave you with this. Me: “You might not recognize me in this costume.” Tyler: “Oh, I recognize those eyes.” Me: *Is dead and has taken the stairs to the Heavyside Layer*

BroadwayCon 2018 - Day 1

Another January living on the east coast, another BroadwayCon. I almost did not attend this year, things were changing and I suffered some health issues in November. I had my ticket though, so come December, when things were starting to get a bit better, I made the decision to go. I'm so glad I did!
IMG_1693IMG_1695 These two photos are from the day before BroadwayCon but I had to include them! Julianne (sister-in-law) and Haley (OG VidCon pal) and me...at Shake Shack...in NYC...perfection.
IMG_9922 IMG_1736 IMG_1750 This year's BroadwayCon was something different. One change for me was the fact it was the first time I've ever gotten myself a hotel room alone before. That was nice. Also, getting to see the friends I made the first and second years, felt extra good this time. I can't explain it, but it just felt warm and safe and special. The new people I met and the new experiences I had were no less amazing. (People coming up to me and telling me they like my videos!! Um, what?!?)
IMG_1760 IMG_1744 IMG_1782 IMG_1753 The Actors in Activism panel had me in tears. Meeting up with Nat and Kacie and Hannah in all of our Jellicle glory and goofiness (more of that to come) was ridiculous fun. BroadwayCon, not the boat show. And all of the performances, WOW. I know it's been months since the con but I'm going to space out these re-caps/reports. It brings me a burst of joy sharing them and I don't want it to all be over.
IMG_1786 IMG_1787 IMG_1788 This was the only day I wore MEOWexander and it was almost as much fun as the first time. People remembered him from last year! What an honor. That first day was a rush and I'm just going to bask in its memories for a bit.
