Original Design Rum Tum Tugger

 

A freestyle Rum Tum Tugger design done back in 2009. I'm quite proud of the leopard spots, if I do say so myself. I just looked at my folder containing all my past makeup designs and boy are there still so many more to share with you! I hope I can get them all up here before 2014 is over but I'm just not sure. I am nearing the end of my current costumes however. There are about four more of those. Stay tuned!

Maybe Trapped Mostly Troubled

I used to do 'Music Mondays' and 'Tuber Tuesdays' (YouTuber, not the vegetable) but I eventually stopped. Today I thought I'd bring both back with Tessa Violet's debut album, Maybe Trapped Mostly Troubled. It's a rare occurrence these days for me to actually purchase a physical album, but I've known Tessa for some time and here videos were some of the few that made me catch the YouTube bug years ago. Her album is great, I can't get the songs out of my head. Here is a video she made previewing the songs in her classic 'cloning' style. Any Meekakitty fans out there?

Eevee (Pokémon) - Halloween 2010

 

Eevee, I chose you! I love having multiple Halloween costumes and 2010 was one with three. For my friend's Halloween party that weekend I went as Eevee, a Pokémon. Sadly, no one really got it. I was mistaken for a varity of rodents and not until I gave the 'hint' that I was a Pokémon did anyone ever come close to guessing correctly. I had fun none the less, my costume was very comfortable and I felt great it it. The dress was one I already owned and the rest of it I made. The hardest part was the mane and the tail. I unraveled yard and brushed it to make it a soft fur. Jim dressed in his classic Aquaman costume that night, we were quite a silly couple.

Atraielees V.1

 

Atraielees is my original character (my OC) and my first ever online 'persona'/username. She's the daughter of Mistoffelees and Jemima (my two favorite characters of course). To be honest, I'm not satisfied with this design, but it's was a start.

During this makeup application I was video chatting with other CATS fans who were also doing makeup applications. It's so great when others share your weird hobby!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Here, have this Earthquake.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I don't know where you live, but where I live (Los Angeles) I was woken up at about 6:30 this morning to a 4.7 magnitude earthquake. It was big, but not the biggest I've felt. I survived the huge Northridge earthquake in '94. That one was a 6.7 in magnitude and I was living in Encino at the time (14 minutes away from Northridge) Also, I was about 8 years old. So, needless to say, I do not like earthquakes.

Just the day before I was in Mammoth Mountains, enjoying the...sun. (It's been too hot and dry this year in California.) I don't ski but Jim's family does and I've been going with them every March to Mammoth basically to hang out. It's really fun. One year it fell on St. Patrick's Day I believe and last year it was during Easter. In fact, last year, there was a 3.8 earthquake by Mammoth Lakes, the very Friday night Jim and I got there.

I hope you all have a great St. Patrick's Day. I hope my SoCal buddies are all alright. In addition to Irish beer, I might pick up an earthquake survival kit today...

Magic, M Anniversary

 

Time for another outfit post! I actually shot these photos in Feburary (keeping up with my one ootd a month goal).  The outfit is mostly the sweater which I got in Harajuku, Japan during my trip. It appears to be a knock-of Monsters University but the name of the clothing company is Magic, so I think it's just a cute parody. I love Monsters University and Japan, and I think this sweater shows my love for both. In a super silly way.

I need to work on my self photo taking skills. (toes cut off, too much head room, camera remote on the ground) I'm getting there!

 I don't know if I ever told you about the story of my key necklace. Here's the short version. I bought the key in Paris, France. It goes to a padlock that is now on a bridge over the Seine River next to the Cathédrale Notre Dame. Written in Sharpie on the lock is date I was there, and "Jenny & Jim" (He was not with me in France). Jim now has the other key. Boom. Romance. Did it.

Vlogging in Japan

While in Japan I did not film a whole lot. I made a few attempts at vlogging, however, here is the result of that. (As you can see, my sister still does not completely understand the concept of 'vlogging'.)

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) - Halloween 2010

 

Halloween 2010 was the Halloween I wore 3 different costumes. During the work day I was Hermione in an updated version of the costume I wore for the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire five years ago. I've since improved the costume even more but have yet to take those photos.
